Volume & Lift
The volume & lift technique gives a refreshing rejuvenated appearance by reducing jowls, temple hollowness and sunken cheeks.
Fillers are injected to restore or increase volume and to provide a subtle lift appearance to the face for a more rejuvenated appearance.
For volume and lift, they can be injected into the cheek area and along the jaw line so that they can’t be seen.
Fillers can also be used to correct facial lines that are apparent at rest (also called static wrinkles), whilst other types of anti-wrinkle injection treatments helps to soften wrinkles that occur with facial expression (dynamic wrinkles). A combination of these two injectable treatment options help to create a more natural and 'refreshed' appearance.

Understanding cosmetic injectable procedures
Cosmetic injectable treatments are used to support facial rejuvenation and enhance natural features. These treatments are designed to address concerns such as volume loss and skin texture changes associated with ageing.
Treatment goals
InjectableInjectable procedures may assist with:
Facial Volume & Contouring: Supporting structure in areas such as the cheeks, jawline and lips.
Skin Quality & Hydration: Helping to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin elasticity.
What are dermal fillers mAde of?
There are different types of cosmetic injectables treatments. Some contain substances that naturally occur in the body. These treatments are used in aesthetic procedures to help support facial volume and improve skin texture. As with any procedure, potential risks and side-effects will be discussed with Dr Liz during your consultation.
How it works
These treatments involve the use of specially formulated substances that are administered by Dr Liz. The approach and outcomes vary for each individual, depending on your skin condition and aesthetic goals.
Common Treatment Areas
Volume & Definition: Cheeks, jawline, chin, temples, and lips.
Skin Revitalisation: Addressing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and overall skin quality.
How long do dermal filler last?
Depending on the type of filler used and where it is placed, this treatment usually lasts 9-18 months.
Lip Rejuvenation & Ageing
As we age, the appearance of our lips naturally changes. The lips may become thinner, the corners of the mouth may begin to turn downward, and fine lines can develop around the lip area. The definition of the upper lip (Cupid's Bow) may also become less prominent.
There are non-surgical treatment options available that aim to support lip hydration, improve definition and smooth the appearance of fine lines around the lips. A consultation with Dr Liz is required to assess your individual concerns, discuss your available options and determine your suitability.
Are There Any Side Effects?
There are risks and side effects with the injection of fillers. Some of these include pain at the time of injection, bruising and swelling. There is also a small risk of lumps occurring at the injection site and also the filler being injected into a blood vessel. Please speak to our dermal therapist or one of our Dermatologists at Northern Sydney Dermatology for more information.
What is a “liquid lift”?
As we age, the natural production of collagen and elastin decreases. This can contribute to changes in skin texture, volume loss, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. The “liquid lift” is a term used to describe a non-surgical facial rejuvenation approach that may involve cosmetic injectable treatments. These treatments aim to support facial volume and improve the overall appearance of the skin.
What Concerns Can a “Liquid Lift” Address?
Fine lines and wrinkles
Facial volume loss
Changes in skin texture
Dark circles under the eyes
The appearance of ageing related facial contours
What does A liquid lift procedure involve?
A consultation with Dr Liz is required to assess your individual concerns and determine your suitability for treatment. Cosmetic injectable treatments can be tailored to address areas such as the mid-face, lower face and eye area. The approach varies based on individual needs, and treatment options will be discussed during your consultation.
What to expect when having a volume & lift treatment with Dr Liz.
Firstly, you will have a consultation with Dr Liz in her Northern Sydney Dermatology rooms. During this consultation you will discuss all the areas which bother you the most and Dr Liz will put together a treatment plan best suited for your needs.
You will then come back for the procedure which is usually performed over 2 visits
If treating around the mouth and lips Dr Liz recommends applying a local topical anaesthetic 30-60 minutes prior. You can take Panadol if not allergic. Otherwise a local is not really required as the procedure is relatively painless.
During the procedure Dr Liz will show you the results using a mirror allowing you to see the progress (usually half way). This enables you to give feedback and get an idea of how everything is progressing.
Makeup can be applied following the procedure.
Dr Liz recommends having this procedure done 4-6 weeks prior to any important function.
what happens after the procedure?
The results are immediate. Usually Dr Liz will show you your progress after she has completed one side of your face. This allows you to see the results, understand what is happening and give any feedback.
Very rarely do you experience redness, swelling and bruising. Please inform Dr Liz if you experience any pain or infection.
The filler draws in more water over a few weeks, so the results continue to get better after the procedure is performed. The filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on the product and location of injection.
You should not have fillers if you are...
Pregnant
Breastfeeding
Have an infection in the treated area
Have an uncontrolled auto-immune condition
Have an allergy to the product
Hesitant or unsure about the procedure
