WHAT IS V BEAM PERFECTA LASER? 

V Beam Perfecta Laser is a pulse dye laser used to treat vascular, pigmented and certain non-pigmented lesions. It delivers intense but gentle pulsed laser energy through the dermis and epidermis skin layers which is absorbed by blood vessels and not by the skin. The VBeam does not damage the skin but destroys excess blood vessels underneath the skin.  

 

WHAT DOES V BEAM PERFECTA LASER TREAT? 

V Beam is a pulse dye laser used to treat vascular, pigmented and certain non-pigmented lesions such as: 

  • Rosacea 

  • Scars 

  • Birthmarks 

  • Stretch marks 

  • Leg veins 

  • Aged spots 

  • Sun damage 

IS THE TREATMENT SAFE? 

The V Beam Perfecta laser is very safe to use. People may experience mild discomfort due to the heat pulse. A cryogen (cold) spray is incorporated into the device to increase patient comfort. 

 

What does the treatment involve? 

  • This treatment is performed in one of our treatment rooms.  

  • You will be asked to wear protective glasses to protect your eyes from the laser.

  • A small hand-held laser will be placed against the skin, a cool mist will be felt followed by a laser pulse.  

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TREATMENT? 

There is very little down time after the procedure. For the next 24 hours you will feel like you have been out in the sun too long! You will be slightly red which will resolve over the next week or so. Some patients may experience some bruising. It is important to protect yourself from the sun and wear sunscreen during and after this treatment  

 

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED? 

The number of treatments will be determined by the type of skin condition being treated. For mild redness 1 to 2 treatments is required. For more intense redness or scarring then 3 to 5 treatments will be required.
